Internship at ICLN (starting immediately, or upon agreement) The International Criminal Law Network (ICLN) was founded in 2002 and aims to facilitate social and professional contact between legal professionals, academic experts and policymakers in international criminal law. In order to reach this goal, ICLN annually organises four informal meetings and newsletters for its members. Additionally, ICLN organises various conferences, tours of The Hague’s law related organisations and international criminal law related courses. As a young, dynamic organisation ICLN is always looking to expand its activities and for new opportunities to create more interaction in the field of international criminal law.
Your Tasks would be: • To underline contextual issues in light of future ICLN activities such as short seminars or lectures, and to assist in organising these • To assist in the organisation of the ICC Trial Competition, a moot court with a focus on international criminal law and the International Criminal Court • To assist in the general management of the organisation, including membership registration, administrative support, and conference preparation and information distribution to the members • To organise a quarterly informal ICLN meeting independently; proposing a topic, arranging the location and inviting ICLN members and guests • To compose at least once the ICLN quarterly newsletter Qualifications: • Candidate must be in, or entering the final stages of his/her studies in international law, public administration or a related field • Participation in relevant extracurricular activities is highly appreciated • Candidate must be able to work independently in the preparation and execution of activities • Good communicative and organisational skills • Proper command of English both in speech and writing We offer: • 3-6 Month internship in a challenging environment • Contact with national and international key figures in the field of international criminal law • High degree of responsibility and freedom to develop oneself, yet with proper support and assistance • Compensation: to be agreed upon
