About Regional Innovation

The unit Regional Innovation is mainly focusing on the management of the Technopolicy Network.

The Technopolicy Network brings together experts and practitioners on Science Based Regional Development. Together, they engage in an exchange of knowledge and experience that helps policy makers, technology transfer officers, facilitators and researchers alike. The international contacts promote a broader understanding of the issues involved and provide opportunities for cooperation.

The governance and management of the Network is accomplished by a Secretariat and an Advisory Board.

One of the primary activities is organizing two main events, the annual conference, where the latest insights and case studies of best practices are presented, and since 2008 the annual conference on Science Based Incubation (SBI). These two day-events are known for their high quality speakers and excellent networking opportunities. As the Technopolicy Network has a system of alternating hosts (always institutional members), both these conferences are organized in another country and in cooperation with a different institution/region each year.
